In short: this website does not collect, store or share any personal data about you. There are no accounts, forms, cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind.
Who runs this website
This website is run by the Human-Mosquito Interaction Project (H-MIP), a research project led by researchers at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and the Centre for Advanced Studies of Blanes (CEAB-CSIC), funded by the European Research Council. It is not an official website of UPF, CSIC or the European Research Council.

What this website does not do
- It does not use cookies.
- It does not use analytics, visitor statistics, advertising or social media widgets.
- It has no accounts, forms or uploads, so you cannot send us any information through it.
- Searching for a municipality happens entirely in your browser. What you type is not sent anywhere.
What is kept in your browser
The website may remember the language you choose, so that it opens in that language next time. This setting stays in your browser, is never sent to us or anyone else, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Third parties involved when you visit
To show you this website, some requests necessarily go to other organisations:
- Hosting. The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. GitHub logs the IP addresses of visitors for security purposes. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
- Basemap. The background map comes from the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s tile servers. When you view a map, your browser requests the map images for the area on screen, so these servers receive your IP address, the map areas you view and standard browser information. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
We do not receive or have access to any of this information.
Links and embedded views
This website links to other sites, such as Mosquito Alert, Zenodo, GitHub and OSF, which have their own privacy policies. If you want to report mosquitoes, breeding sites or bites to science, you can do so through Mosquito Alert, under its own privacy policy. This website does not collect such reports.
If our maps or charts are shown inside another website, the same applies: we collect nothing, and the hosting and basemap services described above receive the same information.
Your rights
Because we do not hold any personal data about you, there is no data of yours for us to give you access to, correct or delete. For information processed by GitHub or the OpenStreetMap Foundation, please contact them directly.
